AODD pumps, or air operated double diaphragm pumps, are positive displacement (PD) pumps that combine reciprocating motion on either side of a diaphragm to transport fluids. When the diaphragm moves up (the volume of a chamber increases), the pressure decreases and causes fluid to flow into the chamber. Next, the diaphragm moves down (the chamber pressure increases), and the fluid is forced out into the discharge pipe.
